Since when is the alternative medicine section for drug abusers?

Posted by Bidadari Lembayung Senja 16 December, 2009 (1) Comment

I’m pretty loose on my medical drug standards and enjoy a nice bong hit every now and then but jezz every alternative medical question that comes up has to do with illegally popping pills. At least pot is legal in some states. Taking pills without a script, giving pills to friends that are on same script, or trying to figure out dosage of oxy to get high. WTH!!!!
Thanks for agreeing looks like parents need to control what their kids are doing on the net more eh?

What is Fish Oil for Anyway?

Posted by Bidadari Lembayung Senja 9 December, 2009 (0) Comment

What is fish oil good for?  That seems to be the question of the day.  The supplement is among the most popular in the US, topped only by the daily multi-vitamin. Despite all of that popularity, there are still many people that are unaware of the benefits.  If you happen to be one of them, this article is for you.  But, first, let me give you just a little advice about choosing a good supplement. Regardless of what kind of supplement you are taking, whether it is a standard multi-vitamin or an herbal extract, it is important to find out what steps the manufacturer takes to insure purity. When we are talking about herbs, the impurities in question are herbicides and pesticides.  We have enough inadvertent exposure to those things.  We don’t need them in a medicinal remedy. When it comes to multi-vitamins, the most common contaminants are unwanted ingredients, like artificial preservatives, colors and flavorings.  Those things may be found in fish oil supplements, too.  But, mercury and PCBs are the major concern.  The toxins are in our oceans and our fish.  Obviously, they could be in the oils, too. Now, that we have covered that.  What is fish oil good for, anyway? There are benefits for any inflammatory condition, including arthritis, inflammatory bowel, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, eczema, psoriasis and acne.  The manufacturers are not allowed to say that the supplement is useful for treating those conditions, because, in the US, that would make it a drug. There is one FDA approved drug for the treatment of very high blood triglycerides that contains only omega-3 fatty acids derived from fish oil.  Many doctors question the practicality of prescribing the expensive drug, when supplements are just as effective. Here’s another question that many people ask.  What is fish oil good for, when it comes to heart health and why? The supplements have been shown to lower blood triglycerides.  High triglycerides are a risk factor for heart disease.  They have anti-coagulant activity like aspirin, but without the aspirin side effects.  They have been shown to have a modest effect on hypertension or high blood pressure and they improve a person’s blood level of “good” HDL cholesterol.  They relax the smooth muscles, prevent blood platelets from adhering to the arterial walls and reduce chronic inflammation, which plays a role in atherosclerosis or hardening of the arteries. So, what is fish oil good for when it comes to the heart and circulatory system?  It’s good for pretty much everything.  It helps to correct the problems caused by unhealthy dietary fats and modulates the effects of the aging process. The supplement is also good for firming the skin, weight management, infertility issues and depression, among other things.  It provides essential omega-3 fatty acids that are largely missing from the modern-day diet. Hopefully, this article answers most of your questions.  Just remember to evaluate the supplement carefully before you buy it.  What is fish oil good for if it contains contaminants?  It’s not good for anything.

What about the money illegals make while here?

Posted by Bidadari Lembayung Senja 9 November, 2009 (1) Comment

If they are making money while they are here illegally, is not that money the same as money a drug maker earns? And we sieze the money and belongings of drug makers when we catch them. So, shouldn’t we do the same to the money that illegal aliens make?

Weight loss problems start in the brain

Posted by Bidadari Lembayung Senja 24 October, 2009 (0) Comment

Obesity is a widely-popular problem that unites people from different nations and different countries. Over the past decades we have read many articles about this disease and the ways of losing weight without having any further trouble but most of it seemed to be useless as the obesity problem still exists in the world of today. Many doctors prescribe various pills and medications that are meant to hold the food-dependent adults away from it. Some of the obesity sufferers reach the peak of the illness. That is where they should take it as seriously as possible and treat it more as a sickness than a simple food dependency. We don’t really know how many different obesity treatments are there but we do know for sure there are plenty enough of them to choose from. Some of the drugs are short-term ones and are meant for those people that are at the first stage with the treatment. Those short-term pills are less dangerous and have a capsule-shaped size. These drugs can be bought in strengths of 15, 30 and 37.5 milligram. How do the obesity release drugs work? What such a pill does is suppress your appetite to the minimum through the central mechanism in the brain of the person. Many doctors that are dealing with obesity on the daily job basis insist that it all starts in the head. They claim that any type of dependency can be eliminated if you work with people’s head and sort it out. What each of us should know is that no matter at what stage you are with the obesity problem – you should not mix the suppressant medicine and try to go for a bigger dose than you should do in order to see a better result. Usually it gives the complete opposite effect and damages the body even more. If you happen to meet any specialist and have a long serious talk with him about the weight loss problems he will tell you this – before you start to take any medication you should change your attitude towards the problem. How does it happen that some people in the same health state have different results by the end of the treatment? The answer is simple. They treat the matter with the different approach. You should keep the faith and want to recover. For no second should you think that it won’t get back to normal. Everything is in your hands. But it won’t happen on its own. You need to control the food you eat and do exercises to get your body in the perfect shape. The lifestyle is important too. Try to spend more time outdoors. If you have a possibility to run and jump during the day – do so. You should have a scheduled diet and stick to it everyday. It is necessary to know that no drug will guarantee you to cure you or give you the promised result. Such pills as Phentermine will give you a chance to have your obesity treated with their help but you should not lift your hopes up with the drug when you simply cannot stop eating fast-food. Remember to take the issue seriously. We would recommend you to go for a drug called Phentermine in case you do not trust yourself with a pill-free treatment. But anyway before you buy Phentermine online or in the closest drug-store- please consult your doctor about it and make sure you are totally comfortable with the treatment as it is not the last thing on the list.

Are appetite suppressants your friends or enemies?

Posted by Bidadari Lembayung Senja 24 October, 2009 (0) Comment

It is hard to give up on good food. And if you think about it – you should not really give up on it. It is wrong to keep yourself away from the things you like unless they harm you and your health. Since the beginning of the 20th century many obesity sufferers have known the other, more pleasant side of the story with food.  It happens after most obese adults lost the gained weight, the extra weight that stopped them from living a healthy life. Nowadays, as we find ourselves in the 21st century, the market seems to have attracted more obesity release drugs that are highly popular with the population. They are advertised on TV and in the magazines. Medical practitioners trust them and prescribe them everyday therefore it is easy to believe and expect a good result.

We can on talking about the appetite suppressants for hours as they are working well but we do not have to forget that the consumption of the drug itself is not that great. Every drug consists of various chemical elements. We all know that the impact of chemical substances on our body is rather negative. So before you enter McDonalds for the third time in a row during the day think wisely. Is it really worth it to have a 5 minute pleasure food moment and pay for it with your health later? Think about your body before anything.

Most adults that consume weight loss drugs know that the consultation is inevitable. You might think you know what your doctor will tell you and you are probably right but it is better to check yourself again and know this or that drug is on your list of medication before you make up your mind on your own. Most people that are welcome to take weight loss free pill should have a body mass index above 30. In some particular cases the number can reach 27 but not below that. Usually these special cases include patients that suffer from type-2 diabetes and cardio-vascular diseases caused by high cholesterol. So you should know your body is at risk when you treat it without specialist’s permission.

Drugs like Phentermine target the weight loss problem salvation hitting the nervous system and pushing the brain to work together with the body. This is one of the most famous pills in the world and it is recommended by most users that achieved good results with their body. But just like every drug it had side-effects though it can really work magic if taken accurately and seriously by the patient that knows why exactly he is taking this medication.

You can buy Phentermine almost everywhere. It is available in all US states and in the world in general. Weight loss should not be a difficulty or an obstacle for no one. But this drug consumption should not become as obsession either. Everything is good in its right proportions. Your specialists need to examine you every now and then and see the progress. If it doesn’t happen, which is almost impossible, you should start a different medication process. If you skipped a dose do not try to male up for it. It is better to miss one than have an overdose that will make the situation worse than ever before. So be wise about anything you do as the drug is only a drug and you work miracle together with it not apart.

EPA Fish Oil Can Enhance the Effect of Some Prescription Drugs

Posted by Bidadari Lembayung Senja 3 September, 2009 (0) Comment

Are you frustrated with your cholesterol levels even though you are on medication to lower it? EPA fish oil may help. First of all, it is always a good idea to check with your doctor or pharmacist to be aware of any food, drug or supplement interaction that may be harmful to you. For example, people taking simvastatin (ZOCOR) should avoid grapefruit juice and St. John’s Wort, which decreases the absorption of the medicine. On the other hand, a supplement that actually supports and otherwise helps the medication simvastatin work better is   the omega-3 fatty acid EPA fish oil. You can find this fatty acid in many health food store, drug stores, and online. Just be sure it clearly states on the package that the product you buy comes from fish that live in uncontaminated waters. I’ll tell you more about that a bit later. In a preliminary trial, people with high cholesterol levels who had been taking simvastatin for about three years were able to significantly lower their triglyceride levels and raise the levels of HDL (“good cholesterol”) by supplementing with either 900 mg or 1800 mg of EPA fish oil per day for three months in addition to the above mentioned presecription drug. . The authors of this study came to the conclusion that the combination of simvastatin and EPA fish oil may prevent coronary heart disease better than the drug alone. As I stated before, you need to do your research on where your omega-3 fatty acid comes from. Some companies aren’t as cautious about the quality of the products they sell to you. Their fish may come from waters that are highly contaminated with toxins such as mercury. The North Sea has been found to be heavily contaminated with toxins that the fish ingest. Those dangerous substances then get into the fish’s body. Therefore, when the oil is harvested from such fish and made into capsules, contaminates will get into the blood stream of everyone who takes the supplements. A body of water in the Southern Ocean off the coast of New Zealand is one area that has been tested and found to be free of pollution and heavy metals. Look for manufacturers who get their fish from this region An important factor in selecting an omega 3 fatty acid supplement is to be sure it has been molecularly distilled (a process where the toxins are discarded after being separated from the oil) providing you with a safe and pure product. Also, look for the ester form of fish oil, which is the most superior type as it is easily able to enter cell membranes allowing the body to use it instantly. Whether you are on medication to lower cholesterol or are just trying to keep your cholesterol at proper levels, EPA fish oil supplements will be beneficial to you as you seek optimum health. To find a supplement free from contaminates like mercury, check out my web site listed in my bio below.

The Process of Drug Detoxification

Posted by Bidadari Lembayung Senja 3 September, 2009 (0) Comment

Detoxification is generally the process of removing all toxic substances from the body caused by addiction from drugs or alcohol. Detoxification is done in various organs such as the lungs, kidney and liver. Kinds of detoxification include dialysis, chelation therapy, acupuncture and inpatient detox. Alternatives such as detox diet have also become popular. However, these alternatives do not have a proven effect compared to the real drug detoxification.

Drug detoxification cleanses the body from all illicit residues that may have been left behind inside the body. This speeds up rehabilitation and gives a new lease on life. Examples of drug residues are phencyclidine, diazepam, cocaine, marijuana and LSD. These chemicals stay inside the body and it will be difficult to get rid of them unless a person undergoes drug detoxification.

Medical specialists and qualified nurses should be present during a drug detoxification. This is a serious medical procedure which is why a medical practitioner should be the one to manage the whole process. During the procedure, the patient should stop the intake of alcohol, drugs or other chemicals. Researchers have proven that the intake of any chemical during drug detoxification may only worsen a person’s physical conditions. Although the effects are relatively subtle, they can create long-term effects.

Detoxification done in a drug detox center can be performed in several different ways, depending on what the patient prefers in receiving the treatment. Most centers cater detoxification for the withdrawal of drug usage.

Ideally, reputable drug rehab centers will include the proper counseling and therapy during the process of treatment for drug dependency because the patient may experience emotional distress while under the process. If chemical residues are ignored, they can remain in the person’s fatty tissues and may be released again after a few years. The release can trigger the addiction, and may cause the person to crave for drugs once again.

People who enroll in a drug treatment center are asked to prepare themselves with the procedures that they are going to undertake. They are also asked to keep away from any drug temptation, which may be a difficult task for someone who has abused drugs.

Drug rehabs include regular sauna treatments, exercise regiments and nutritional supplements in all their drug addiction treatment programs. These activities are meant for the chemical residues that may hide behind the fatty tissues. Illegal or Prescription drug detoxification is a good way to getting sober and completely quitting from an addiction. A drug treatment center helps a person become fully aware of the consequences that addiction can bring. The withdrawal process gets easier when the patient becomes more focused on keeping his body healthy.

While undergoing drug detoxification, the patient will be under medication. A usual treatment period can stretch to up to two to three months depending on the patient’s responses. When the body of the patient becomes used to the medicines and starts feeling the desire to become normal once again, professional psychiatrists will then enhance even more the determination of the patient and give him enough mental boost and counseling.
